Duties:
The Lyman Beecher Brooks Library’s Interlibrary Loan unit is hiring a work-study student for the fall 2016 semester. Job duties include scanning and copying library materials, processing incoming and outgoing mail, searching for and shelving books along with special projects as needed. Applicants must be able to work independently, be dependable, have a meticulous attention to detail and be punctual. Applicants should also possess strong communication skills and have a basic knowledge of computers. He/she should work well in a team environment and be able to take direction from multiple sources. Applicants must have exceptional judgment and be creative thinkers. Physical Requirements: Applicants should be able to lift up to 20 pounds and be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp, push, pull, and maintain their balance.
Qualifications:
Some experience in library work is preferred. Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to focus and computer proficiency is preferred. Students applying must be awarded work-study for the fall 2016 term. Additionally students applying for this position must be able to work 9am -12pm at least two days between Monday-Friday.
