Come and Experience Norfolk State University for Yourself

Our campus visit program is designed to provide our guests with information about our wide range of academic programs, the admission process, financial aid, and student life on campus. Visitors will attend an information session lead by an Admission Recruiter or a Student Ambassador, followed by a walking tour of the University's main campus.


This tour covers central campus, including:
  • The Main Quad (historic and academic center of campus, including the Nursing and General Education Building)
  • Lyman Beecher Brooks Library (Harrison B. Wilson Archives and African Art Gallery)
  • Greek Walk
  • Student Center (student activities area, including the Bookstore and Food Court)
The Campus Walking Tour departs from the Student Services Center

Spartan Tour Schedule (September - April)

  • Spartan Individual and Family Tours (1 - 6 persons):
    Monday, Wednesday, & Friday at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
  • Spartan Group Tours (7 or more guests):
    Monday- Friday 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Spartan Tour Schedule (May - August)

  • Spartan Individual and Family Tours ( 1 - 6 persons):
    Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 PM
  • Spartan Group Tours (7 or more guests):
    Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Blackout Dates: (On the following dates, campus tours will not be offered):

  • August 8 - September 7, 2015 (Agoge/Welcome Week and)
  • September 29 - October 4, 2015 (Midterms)
  • October 12 - 13, 2015 (Fall Break)
  • November 25 - 30, 2015 (Thanksgiving Break)
  • December 3, 2015 - January 19, 2016 (Finals, Commencement and Winter Break)
  • February 8 - 13, 2016 (Midterms)
  • March 7 - 13, 2016 (Spring Break)
  • April 30 - May 16, 2016 (Final Exams, Commencement)
*Note: Fall tours end on December 4, 2015 and Spring tours resume on January 19, 2016.

The tour is not confirmed until you are contacted by the tour coordinator and receive a confirmation packet to the provided email address.
