Duties:
The Social Media Assistant will be responsible for creating social media posts multiple times per week and across multiple platforms (at least 5 posts per week across all the different platforms) for the program’s two academic areas of interest: 1. The Psychology Department and its faculty in general; 2. The Cyberpsychology program. Additional duties may include creating new accounts for social media platforms not currently used by the department (eg TikTok). The Assistant will liaison with faculty in the department, and faculty outside of the Psychology department as needed, to gain essential information about what is going on in the department and transform that information into original posts that you will create the content for, and maintain engagement with. There is an expectation that the person hired will create posts using a variety of media (text, images, voice and video—which may require yourself being the face of those videos). The Assistant must maintain good judgment in the language they use in posts and awareness about ensuring posts are send positive messaging even around potentially difficult issues.
Qualifications:

* Current enrollment as an NSU student. * Priority preference given to students who have a declared Psychology major. Secondary preference given to students in a COLA major. All other students will still be considered based on the following criteria: - Experience and proficiency using social media to create content and oversee engagement with those posts. Platforms of preference include Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Youtube. - An understanding of how to optimize outreach and exposure of posts to reach diverse audiences. - Ability to utilize good judgement when creating content and responding to comments. - Detail oriented, track record of being adherent to deadlines. - Able to work under minimal supervision, but also awareness of staying in regular contact with your immediate supervisor. - Excellent communication skills both verbally (interacting with faculty in the Psychology Department), written (such as awareness needed when creating social media posts and replies), and all other (eg, video post narration, etc). - Creative, in order to develop visually engaging content - While not guaranteed, willingness to potentially consider working in this role across multiple semesters (pending strong performance evaluations and funding). 

Must be awarded work-study for the fall 2025 term. 

Field of Study:
Preference for psychology majors, although willing to consider non psychology majors who have some familiarity with psychology but also have exceptional skills as defined above.
