Duties:
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on teaching and research experience, contribute to ongoing student lab projects, and develop valuable academic and technical skills. Key Responsibilities: Assist students with laboratory exercises in Botany and General Biology. Prepare samples and set up experiments. Collect and handle samples, including microbes, plants, and small organisms. Conduct plant tissue culture, prepare media, and grow plants in the greenhouse and NSU Garden. Perform molecular techniques, such as DNA extraction (using kits) and PCR for genomic sequencing from soil and plant samples. Maintain lab cleanliness, wash glassware, and help set up new equipment. Assist with grading assignments and exams. Enter, organize, and clean data in computer systems.
Qualifications:
Prefer Juniors and Seniors, Biology Major. Must be awarded work-study for the fall 2025 term.
