Duties:
The Graduate Assistant (GA) in Athletics supports the mission and operations of Norfolk State University Athletics while pursuing a graduate degree. The position provides hands-on professional experience in collegiate athletics administration, coaching, or support services, while assisting with program operations, student-athlete support, and departmental initiatives in compliance with NCAA, MEAC, university, and state policies.
Qualifications:
Required • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. • Admission to and good standing in a Norfolk State University graduate program. • Eligibility to hold a Graduate Assistant appointment per university policy. Preferred • Prior experience in athletics, coaching, or sports administration. • Experience working with student-athletes or student employees. • Knowledge of NCAA Division I athletics. Must be awarded federal work-study for the spring 2026 term.
