Duties:
Career Peer Advisor (CPA) provides peer career development assistance to Norfolk State University students throughout their undergraduate education.
- Create flyers and marketing material for upcoming events and Virtual Career Fairs
- Post flyers and events on Social Media Platforms
- Assist with tracking and documenting students’ engagement in events, resume critiques
- Assist with creating forms in Google Docs for the purpose of collecting data from surveys
- Provide assistance with setting up and planning of virtual events
- Assist with evaluating resumes and providing feedback to students
- Participate/moderate virtual professional development and career development sessions as needed
- Assist in managing social media platforms to ensure professionalism is upheld at all times.
- Enter job activities and events for employers.
- Vet job information so that we can prevent scams.
Other duties as needed
• Act as a representative of Career Services to the campus community
• Conduct some reception and clerical duties within the office
Qualifications:
1) Must be awarded work-study for the Summer 2022
2) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present information to groups
3) Strong Computer Skills - Google Suite, Microsoft 365
4) Tech Savvy
5) Creative, Professional, and ability to adapt to changes
