Duties:
The Department of Health, Physical Education & Exercise Science seeking five eager, energetic customer service oriented research assistants. To perform duties such as utilizing library data bases, obtaining and organizing peer reviewed books and articles, writing reviews of literature, typing; creating spreadsheets and charts, and coping documents. The SELF Ambassador, will assist with collecting research data, preparation of manuscripts, and research presentations. Experience with google documents is a plus. Telecommuting is permissible but must commit to ten hours a week and occasional synchronous video conferencing required. Duties and Responsibilities • Utilizing library data bases • Obtaining and organizing peer reviewed books • Obtaining articles and open source documents • Writing reviews of literature • Explain informed consent specific to protocol to potential enrollees, answers questions if any, and documents the informed consent process • Educate subjects on protocol related procedures/assessments in which they must participate as a study subject • Collect, organize, and maintain data and test results for source documentation of all research subjects • Type and copy research documents • Assist with preparation of manuscripts, workshops and research presentations • Assist with graphical analysis of data • Sterilizes equipment and supplies Essential Functions/Physical Requirements The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. • Currently enrolled NSU student • Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or must obtain within thirty days of employment • Maintain a clean and safe workout environment • Team oriented ideals, willingness to work hard, and a desire to learn • Effective communication and organizational skills • Work independently given a clear task • Complete training requirements such CITI modules, Good Clinical Practice and research training courses within thirty days of employment
Qualifications:
• Friendly, outgoing personality, general knowledge and interest in fitness, detail- oriented, and customer service –driven. Excellent communication and verbal skills. • This is a part-time positions including evening hours • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel • Experience with google documents is a plus. Must be awarded work-study for the fall 2020 term.
