Duties:
Student Center Operations Assistant (Set-Up and Moving Team) The building operations assistant is accountable for the placement of all requested equipment in reserved spaces in the Student Center. Utilizing a computerized reservations system and other relevant documents, the operations assistant will plan and execute setups, breakdowns, and promptly return all equipment to the appropriate storage area after use. The staff will also maintain equipment consisting of but are not limited to, chairs, tables, risers, and audio-visual equipment. Operations assistants will also assist in event operations management as requested to perform any additional duties. Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting inventories and banner hanging. Heavy lifting is required. Student workers are required to maintain the cleanliness of the Student Center during their shifts, including public space and reserved spaces. The team utilizes leadership skills ranging from time management and delegation to staying organized and completing multiple tasks that may have time implications. The team must prioritize tasks during the course of their shifts while working independently; ultimately, the ability to operate in the team setting will ensure the success of the operations staff of the Student Center as a whole.
