Duties:
Job Description: Norfolk State University’s Office of University Advancement Leadership and Major Giving Department is seeking students awarded work-study for the Fall 2022 semester to assist in clerical and office-related tasks associated with philanthropy, donor cultivation and charitable giving. Work study students will cultivate donor acknowledgements, prepare meeting items, complete pre and post event duties as assigned, and provide event and project assistance. Students must demonstrate a pleasant and willing attitude, work well with a team, and exhibit comfortability communicating with others.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Great interpersonal skills - Ability to conduct research to help maximize donations and ensure successful fundraising - Ability to perform clerical tasks such as document intake and scanning, assembling mailings, and making and answering phone calls. - Must be able to operate various software applications to input and organize numerical figures - Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Google Docs and Google Forms - Flexibility and willingness to learn - Meticulous attention to detail - Exceptional punctuality and reliability - Presentation, conduct, and attitude appropriate to a professional office setting - Neat appearance and appropriate attire at all times - Strong communication and organizational skills - Ability to adhere to University Advancement policies regarding confidential information - Organize letters and appropriate publications to be mailed
