Duties:
The Department of Athletics offers numerous opportunities for interns to develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities by exposing them to various aspects of the athletics industry. Through hands-on experience in the athletics business office, game operations, and administrative units, each intern will gain a unique perspective that contributes to their overall learning process. The Norfolk State Sports Communications intern is a vital role in the behind-the-scenes world of college athletics. The ideal candidate will show strong dedication, organization, and flexibility to ensure Norfolk State’s varsity athletics programs are promoted positively and effectively, while contributing to the team environment to host athletic events. The athletics communications job will assist the Athletics sports communications office with various tasks related to the financial and operational management of the athletic department. Roles available, but not limited to, include: Photographer, Videographer, Scoreboard Operator, Writer, Graphic Designer, Statistician, Social Media Coordinator, Marketing Liaison, Broadcaster, & DJ/Music.
Qualifications:
Punctuality Professionalism Accountability Responsive Previous experience working in communications (preferred). Must be awarded federal work-study for the fall 2024 term.
