Duties:
Duties: Monitors activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and enforce rules and regulations. • Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas and proper safety practices. • Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning. Administers first aid as required. Notifies appropriate personnel of accidents, incidents and disturbances that occur. • Completes all required reports and forms. Pool chemistry tests for correct water balance. • Maintains cleanliness of pools and surrounding areas. Inspect designated areas frequently to ensure cleanliness and assist in performing routine maintenance as needed. • Responds to complaints and concerns of customers and citizens in a calm, helpful manner. Seeking the assistance of other senior staff as needed in resolving citizen concerns or complaints. May assist in investigating issues. • Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Must possess a current Lifeguard Certification from a nationally recognized organization, i.e. American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, YMCA of USA, Star guard or equivalent. Must be awarded Federal work-study.
